iEDM Radio Special Edition — Whales’ ’Fuckin’ EP Mix
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
Since his early years, Tal Rochman, known by his stage name as Whales, has had a special connection with music. Growing up in Israel, at the early age of five years old, Whales began to listen to different genres of music on CDs.
When he was seven years old, Whales began playing the goblet drum and performing in competitions. However, as passionate as he was about music, Whales faced major challenges because of a physical handicap.
Tourette’s Syndrome began to take over Whale's life, and because of this, he was unable to play instruments in the way that he wanted to. Although he faced such a setback, Whales never gave up his dream of pursuing music. He found solace in producing music with FL studio and developed his own unique sound.
2012 was a pivotal year for Whales, as he discovered the dubstep genre which he became attracted to. Although his health continued to decline, Whales used music as an escape. In 2013, under the name, “Sex Whales,” Tal released his first unofficial remix, which helped him gain an audience through SoundCloud.
Slowly, under Sex Whales, Tal gained a fan base and started collaborating with other artists. In 2016 he released, “We Are,” and “Dead To Me” on the YouTube channel Trap Nation, and began touring internationally, playing shows in Europe, Canada, and China. He received significant recognition in Israeli news, and started to assemble a team that would promote his music to the world.
After gaining recognition, he rebranded as “Whales'' and began working with a variety of record labels, including Monstercat, Atlantic Records and Sony Music, as well as collaborating with industry heavy-hitters including Excision, Shaquille O’Neal, Borgore, Kayzo, and more. With the rise in popularity of his music, Whales’ health began to improve. The Tourette’s Syndrome Whales had experienced significantly subsided, and his mood improved greatly.
In 2021, Whales’s hit single “Dead To Me” began going viral on TikTok and in early 2022, charted on Spotify’s Global Top 200 Dance & Electronic Music Chart and has remained there for more than twenty weeks, peaking at #78. Tal’s motivation for his work is to inspire people and bring positivity to the community through his music.
With his highly-anticipated 'Fuckin' EP, Whales is ready to share his story and inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter the challenges they may face. Join this innovative on his journey of perseverance and discovery as he celebrates 10 years of Whales and sets the stage for a bright, exciting future with this electrifying iEDM Radio special edition mix.

iEDM Radio Episode 332: Olly James
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Following on from the release of his epic EP ‘Seduction’ in collaboration with Hardwell on Revealed Recordings, Olly James is thrilled to announce that he will be working alongside Hardwell on his very own personal imprint in collaboration with Revealed: Rave Room Recordings.

With releases from Olly and other huge names in the scene, there is plenty to look forward to when it comes to this brand-new label.
When asked about Rave Room Recordings, Olly had this to say:

iEDM Radio Episode 144: Fox Stevenson
Sunday May 21, 2017
Sunday May 21, 2017
Bio
Unhindered by the constraints of a particular genre, Fox Stevenson pushes against imposed limitations.
Growing up in an artistic environment, with a musician, writer, and theater director for a father, Fox didn’t need much prodding to explore art from the inside-out. Laying down his tracks from scratch, he will also write and perform his own vocals. As a live musician, he is unafraid to pick up the guitar, drums, bass, or mix a live DJ set on stage.
The casual listener is immediately struck by the emotional pith and complex narrative structures of his songs. Most dance song lyrics are throwaway, but Fox’s tracks are genuine, space-creating oddities of a new generation. They are indebted to the old singer-songwriters of the past, while also challenging traditional expectations for beat-based, electronic music. In a world that often prefers we choose ‘one or the other’, Fox is one of the few willing to balance and create a free-flowing tri-force of dance, pop, and rock in his music.
A rare master of the live and digital, he is always experimenting and improving on his own structural artifices. “There is no best way,” he says, “that I would prefer to learn. When someone tries to tell me the ‘best’ way of compressing a snare, I prefer to learn it myself, because otherwise I would never try and go outside of that.” Keeping true to this spirit—to his own standards—he has been performing under the alias Fox Stevenson, reflecting his maturing growth as an artist, and culminating in the release of his first EP, Endless, with Firepower Records. Following his debut EP, Fox released songs on Spinnin’ Records, Circus Records, Firepower Records, and on his own record label Cloudhead Records. With six Beatport #1 Releases under his name, in 2016, Fox Stevenson partnered with powerful bass music taste-making label, Disciple, while continuing close ties with Spinnin’ Records for house/electro music.
Be on the lookout for Fox Stevenson as he gets his music out to a wider audience, ups the ante with world-tours, produces in more sophisticated studios, and hosts a plethora of collaborations with other artists—as he tries simply, in his own words, “to be better and better.”

iEDM Radio Episode 137: Kill The Buzz
Sunday Apr 02, 2017
Sunday Apr 02, 2017
Bio
Kill the Buzz, real name Adithya Nanuru, began making music at the age of 10, igniting a passion that would eventually see him playing to some of the biggest crowds in the world and alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music. The Breda-based producer has climbed the progressive house ladder right to the top and is now reaching the lofty heights after receiving well deserved praise from the community and valiant support from the titans of the upper reaches, a cast that includes artists such as Dannic and Sander van Doorn, as well as the legendary David Guetta and Hardwell. With his 2012 breakthrough track ‘Party Hard’ signalling to the world that Kill the Buzz was the name to watch, Nanuru has since gone from strength to strength, supporting Hardwell, the biggest DJ on the planet, around the globe as part of his I Am Hardwell series of shows, signing to Revealed Recordings and releasing some of the most vital progressive house of the past few years.
Kill The Buzz heard his music broadcast to millions when his collaborative track with Joey Suki ‘Life is Calling’, received worldwide radio airplay at the tail end of 2013, sending huge waves through the dance music community. With its exquisite combination of towering electro house beats and melodic sensibilities, the track propelled Kill the Buzz into the upper echelons of the genre where he remains today. On Revealed Recordings, Nanaru has released numerous collaborations with both rising artists like David Spekter and established names such as Manse, with whom he’s ventured out alongside on the Revealed Presents Asian tour, playing to frenzied audiences in cities including Octagon in South Korea, Levels in Hong Kong and Myst in Shanghai across 8 dates in total.
Kill the Buzz’s music is an elaborate combination of expertly crafted electro house and compelling progressive beats, infinitely danceable but retaining a sense of intricate melody and harmony, something perfectly highlighted in ‘Dreamin’, his joint release with fellow Revealed artist Ralvero in 2015, as well as his scorching remix of Jason Derulo’s ‘Want To Want Me’ that took the pop sensation’s original working to new, lofty heights. Equally suited for radio play, humongous festivals and intimate rooms, KTB’s distinctive branch of the genre incorporates both influences from his peers and supporters, as well as unique experimentation with texture and sound. The latter part of the year also saw him gear up for a collaborative release with label mates Futuristic Polar Bears entitled ‘Shake it off’, a track that received support from names including Ummet Ozcan, R3hab and many more, with his rapid trajectory to the top becoming further solidified by his standing in the dance music community.
2016’s release schedule has continued to impress, with highlight tracks such as ‘All The Way Down’ with Tom Swoon on Revealed Recordings, ‘Galaxies’ alongside Katt Niall on Armada Trice and ‘Once Upon A Time’ with Harrison, Kill the Buzz’s craftsmanship and perfectionism in the studio has reached new heights with each release.
However, his ambitions see him looking far beyond the boundaries of dance music, with his increasingly vocal and more melodic tracks demonstrating a desire to create sounds that appeal to the vast and diverse audience of global music fans, alongside the more traditional club tracks he has already showcased proficiency in. Having played at some of the biggest venues and festivals in the world, including Tomorrowland (Both in Belgium and Brazil), Solaris Music Festival Canada, Las Vegas’s Hakkasan, Germany’s World Club Dome (World’s biggest club) and Hardwell’s Carnival at Ushuaia Ibiza.
Kill the Buzz has also proven his domination on the tour front with events such as the Brasil ‘Carnival’ trek across a multitude of the country’s tropical provinces, as well as the momentous 11-date Revealed North America Bus Tour, now the stuff of label legend, alongside label head Hardwell and peer Thomas Newson. Kill the Buzz’s tour endeavours in 2016 have been equally as impressive, including shows such as Hardwell’s ‘Go Hardwell Or Go Home’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, as well as the Hardwell Presents Revealed show at ADE, showcasing that Kill the Buzz continues to rise year on year and cement himself as one of the scene’s best talents.

Once he decided to focus purely on his own electronic sounds, therewas no stopping him.
His debut album DanceUnder The Influence was met with considerable acclaim, blending the soundof Western dance/pop with vocalists and musicians from India to make for aunique and daring combination. It spawned the infectious singles Don’t FunkWith Me, Completed Me and Slip Away, which together amassed over 1.8million plays in the space of six months across SoundCloud and YouTube alone
Slip Away rose to become a #1 Billboard breakout track, sitting alongsidetracks by the likes of Drake, Rihanna and DJ Khaled, with Rolling Stone callingit “a feel-good tune that just about anyone could enjoy and relate to”. Ithas enjoyed major success at radio, with its video racking up over 200,000plays in the first week, and it’s likely to be looked back on as the firstmajor breakthrough track for this multi-talented artist.
This plucky producer is verymuch just getting started, with the superb Obvious set to be his nextbig smash and collaborations on the way with rising stars like Gazzo andestablished artists such as Colby O’Donis and Elliot Yamin. Working with otherartists is something that’s in his very nature and has always been what he’sabout, so don’t be surprised to see him continue to work with bigger namesstill.
His DJ career also continuesto blossom in tandem, with highly rated performances already under his belt inLas Vegas, Miami and San Jose amongst others. It’s clear that nothing’s goingto stop him getting where he wants to be, and with so much talent at hisfingertips and such a solid start in the game, you can bet he’s going to getthere in no time.
