IEDM Radio Episode 182: LA Riots
Saturday Mar 17, 2018
Saturday Mar 17, 2018
A lot has happened since LA Riots introduced a bawdy blend of indie rock, alt dance & electro music to the world in 2007. LA Riots has reinvented a sound that melds influences of techno, house and drum n’ bass. They have accomplished what eludes so many in the genre: maintaining their underground credibility while remixing some of music's premier pop and rock labels. Over the years, their broad musical scope has led to plays from the top DJs in the industry. These accolades from fellow DJs have put them on the speed dial of A&R teams to shine up pop and rock remixes for major labels such as Warner Bros., Virgin, Tommy Boy and Interscope. LA Riots’ production is varied, but their quality control and precision in the studio creates a big room sound that brings the party straight to the dance floor. After a short break, John and Daniel are ready to release a slew of new music in 2018 and got an early jump with remixes of Tricky’s “Running Wild” and The Chainsmokers’ “The One”. Next in line are releases on Spinnin, Country Club Disco, a remix for NAATIONS, and much more. ------------------ Tracklist: 1. option4 - Lifeline 2. Ryan Shepherd - I'll Bass You 3. iEDM Radio Episode 178: MORTEN
Friday Feb 16, 2018
Friday Feb 16, 2018
Morten Breum (now known as MORTEN) is a Danish DJ and producer currently living in Los Angeles, CA. Morten’s passion for music started early in life. He began DJ’ing at 14, and since then his love for music has been the driving force behind everything he does. Like many DJ’s, Morten started his career by playing local venues in his home town of Aarhus, located in central Denmark, and by 19, he had begun playing at the biggest venues across Scandinavia due to his knack for big-room quality tracks. MORTEN is no stranger to the spotlight. Characterized by his eclectic take on progressive, electro-house, and dubstep, Breum recently moved to the creative epicenter of LA in his pursuit for stateside success. Supported and constantly sought after by the most successful acts in EDM, such as Avicii, Tiesto, Chuckie, David Tort, Rebecca & Fiona, Axwell, Felix Da Housecat, Sebastien Ingrosso, David Guetta, and Diplo, it appears that Breum is not only a phenomenon in his home country but in the eyes and ears of the most respected leaders in the industry. MORTEN effortlessly transitions through the gamut of genres, ranging from uplifting progressive to heavy-stepping electro. “I think my sound is ever evolving so it can be hard to describe it in a few sentences. But some of the words I would use to describe my sound are uplifting, hard, deep, and minimal progressive,” exclaimed MORTEN to GDD in an interview. His motto, tattooed on his chest, is “If music be the food of love, play on”, and with an arsenal of music like his own, you’ll never see, hear, or experience a dull moment with Breum as he leads the epic charge of EDM’s golden age. ------------------ Tracklist: 1. IEDM Radio Episode 176: Borgore
Saturday Feb 03, 2018
Saturday Feb 03, 2018
Ever wake up cotton-mouthed, feverish and naked wrapped in a shower curtain as you lay in the fetal position inside of a bathtub knowing you probably did some morally questionable things while simultaneously wondering where the hell your girlfriend is at? She probably went home with Borgore after the club last night. Epitomizing the hashtag #NoFucksGiven, the Israeli-born master of musical mayhem, government name Asaf Borger, has been ravaging electronic culture one bass-heavy, booty-clapping bonanza at a time. His decade-long list of accomplishments includes heading up his own successful label, Buygore Records, headlining sold out shows to record-breaking crowds at iconic events such as Tomorrowland, Made In America, Ultra and EDC Las Vegas, hosting an internationally syndicated weekly SiriusXM radio series “The Borgore Show”, and a milieu of collaborative bangers alongside fellow ratchet cohorts like Miley Cyrus, Waka Flocka Flame and Diplo. Hailed as one of the most mind-melting dubstep artists of his generation, the 27-year-old classically trained producer, song writer, and DJ's sonic evolution has been as enticing as his surreal multi-sensory show productions. Like any artist with a widely recognized household name, Borgore remains self-intuitive and motivated to pioneer what audiences don't even know they like yet. After countless accolades and globe-trotting memories, the next step in Borgore's career will see him move away from the trap and dubstep vibes fans are used to as he delves more heavily into breeding a new variation within hip hop. In a recent interview with Miami New Times, Borgore best explains his trajectory of growth as a culmination of passion and new direction: "We've been working on an EP, me and some of my favorite rappers…I want to write songs rather than write bangers. I want to be true to myself as an artist and create the music I want to create." From death metal to dubstep to hip hop, Borgore fans can rest assured that his production efforts will continue to lead the charge with the same high energy, potty mouth charisma that continues to resonate with so many. Stay tuned for forthcoming mass destruction. ------------------ Tracklist: 1. Diplo, Pritam, Mohit Chauhan - Phurrr 2. Fifth Harmony, Skrillex, Poo Bear - Angel 3. Borgore - Savages 4.
